Does carrots give you night vision?

You go to work, school, or wherever you desire sit and get ready to do your business. Your mind is set, ready to achieve everything. Then you look up and its blurry…. everywhere! You can't believe. This shouldn't or can't be happening right now, but it is. So you spent the whole day worrying about your vision and its night time, lights are off (since it broke) , and you are having a mental breakdown. You realize it does nothing but you want to see clearly in the night so your crazy mind decides to eat a buttload of carrots, thinking it will give you night vision. Does carrots really give you night vision? Lets pop this balloon to find out!

What are carrots? (For those who don't know)

Carrots are the orange roots from the Daucus carota. As the root of the plant, carrots store the energy of the plant. Carrots are rich Vitamin K1, potassium, and antioxidants. To add on our body converts the orange pigment in carrots to Vitamin A. Carrots are also about 25 calories for a medium carrot. Carrots come in many colors include purple, yellow, white, and red. Orange carrots became a popular type in history because, in the 1600’s, the Dutch popularized orange carrots to support House of Orange. Carrots take 60-80 days to grow fully.

Does carrots give you night vision?

No this is false. The myth waa built on the truth that carrots improve eyesight. This myth does have a surprising historic root from WWII British propaganda. The British Royal Air force created radar technology to spot opponent aircrafts in the dark. To keep the secret from the Germans, the British said they ate lots of carrots to help them see in the dark, thus the myth is created and passed in history.

Fun facts about carrots

Baby carrots are just carrots that were cut and polished down. Carrots are 88% water and 12% vegetable. The worlds longest carrot is about 20 feet long. Historically purple carrots came before the standard one.
