Does eating yogurt and milk together cause an upset stomach?
Imagine I make a smoothie with strawberries, banana, milk, and yogurt. To my eyes I see it as a smoothie. To a myth believers eye they see it as a stomach killer. That creates the myth; Does eating yogurt and milk together cause an upset stomach? Well yes, eating both of them together will cause an irritated stomach. According to NDTV Food, it states, “ ‘…block the channels or srotas of the body and result in infections, tummy problems and ill-health.’” Srotas refers to channel pathway that carries nutrition and waste through the body. According to Kamalanjini Kasaram and Harinath Tirumalasetty, they state, the stomach cannot tell the difference between milk and milk next to yogurt. It will digest them the same way as protein and fat. They also stated, milk and yogurt have opposite qualities, so mixing them creates imbalance in the body. According to Krishi Jagran, yogurt is a fermented product and taking it with milk blocks the roots and the passages of the body causing infections, irritated stomach, and poor health. If you ever feel any discomfort when having this combination, it is best to check with a medical specialist. Well that myth has been bursted.
